GED Prep and High School Proficiency Preparation/ Testing
Knowing how important an education is to securing and advancing in a career, Mid-Atlantic will launch this new program to help prepare Salem County residents for the task of taking the General Education Development/Diploma (GED) or Test Assessing Secondary Completion™(TASC™.) MASCEC is also working to become a certified test provider for the GED.
High School Proficiency Preparation
Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center is a New Jersey Department of Education approved High School Proficiency Testing site. In addition to providing testing, MASCEC also has an extensive Preparation Program, providing clients with access to the most comprehensive pre-testing, on-line education system available.
Mid-Atlantic offers all three HSPT testing options – ETS HiSet®, Pearson VUE (GED), and TASC™. These companies offer computer-based testing that is user-friendly to make the process efficient and timely for clients.

Specialized Certification Programs
Staying true to the Mid-Atlantic States vision of providing career training and education to its clients, the Specialized Training Programs aim to empower employees with nationally recognized certificates in a number of today’s growing industries, particularly food services, technology and warehousing.
Mid-Atlantic States currently offers the following programs:
ServSafe® offers a comprehensive program designed to train managers and employees of food establishments of the most affective food safety practices. Participants will receive a national certification that meets National Restaurant Association regulations.
The program offers clients hands-on instruction of Microsoft Office Software that bring administrative settings up to date.
This program is designed to fill a growing need in South Jersey for trained forklift operators. It provides course work as well as actual forklift operation experience in a warehouse setting. Participants receive a national certification upon completion of the course.
Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center’s Lifting Futures Forklift Training program meets the needs of the growing warehouse and distribution occupation in South Jersey, including Salem and Gloucester Counties. Modern day warehousing and distribution depends extensively on the use of high-tech forklifts for both in-coming and out-going products.
Experienced, certified forklift operators earn good wages and contribute to the overall profitability of a business through increased productivity and reduced occurrence of accidents.
The program includes classroom instruction, hands-on training on five different pieces of equipment, training in a warehouse setting, and a safety standards certification.
Lifting Futures, which meets Safety Training Standards, begins with classroom instruction and then continues in a genuine warehouse setting on Hubbell Avenue in Salem City. Certified instructors will lead students through a comprehensive safety and operation curriculum, offering the most complete training program.
The 60,000-square-foot Hubbell Avenue Warehouse has been restored to utilize actual loading docks and 20-foot racks in client training. Participants will gain experience operating:
- Counter Balance Forklift
- Order Picker
- Reach Lift
- Stand-on Electric Pallet Jack
- High-reach Scissor Lift
