Grade Schoolers Say “Thank You” to Local Veterans

Dec 21, 2020

Veterans in the South Jersey area were recently treated to “Thank you” cards this Holiday Season. Second and third graders from Elsinboro Township School learned about veterans and then created thank you cards to express their gratitude. Those cards were then placed in food bags that were distributed to disabled veterans who are part of the “Meals of Honor” Program. This food distribution program is a collaboration between Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center and the Wilmington VA Medical Center which is the jurisdictional headquarters for veterans in South Jersey. According to one Mid-Atlantic States staff member who delivered the bags, the veterans receiving the cards were very appreciative. “You could see the gratitude in their eyes,” he said.
